The Stanley Sawtooth Mountain MusicFest is headed our way fast and we’ve got lots of fun in store for both days. This year’s event will feature so many excellent musicians that we had to spread them across two weekends, so be sure to check out the lineups below and make your plans to join us for all the excitement.
There are lots of great camping and RV spaces located throughout the Mountain Village property, as well as VIP Camping available nearest to the venue to offer the best access to the stage. This is a rare opportunity to camp within Stanley’s City Limits, so don’t miss it! Camping Reservations may be made through the Mountain Village Resort Lodge, at (208)774-4688.
Round 1 of the MusicFest will take place all day on June 18, 2016. The event will be held at the Mountain Village Resort’s Outdoor Concert Venue with gates set to open at 11:00am.
Shane Smith & the Saints are a gritty, high energy group hailing all the way from Texas. Their unique musical style blends a bit of folk, country, classic Americana, and good ol’ rock and roll. They’ve been touring throughout the USA, selling out shows and building an awesome reputation. Don’t miss your chance to see them here in the Sawtooths.
Rust on the Rails offers their own blend of soulful sound which combines the edge of Seattle folk rock with Americana, blues, and a bit of funk. They offer a complex arrangement of harmonies that becomes simple when combined with their poetic lyrics and percussive guitar rhythms. We’re very excited to bring them to the Mountain Village Outdoor Stage for a bit of Sawtooth Mountain fun.
John D. Hale Band is a rowdy foursome from Jackson, Missouri. The band mashes together influences from Americana, Southern rock, and a bit of bluegrass for a country sound that is all their own. Widely recognized in Texas and throughout the X Country music scene, we’re super happy to welcome this talented group to the Sawtooths.
Two Tons of Steel is an awesome San Antonio-based band that’s been rocking out the Texas Americana music world since the 1990’s and they sound better than ever! From appearing on the cover of Billboard magazine to playing on Austin City Limits, this excellent band has done it all and their sound continues to evolve. Be sure to catch them during this escape to Idaho’s mountains.
The Matt Skinner Band is visiting us from their hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado. This exciting group of 4 friends from the Front Range is widely known for great tunes that fuse alt-country and roots-rock for a high-energy brand of rocking country music. Their songs skillfully weave poetic lyrics with electric sounds, and we’re stoked to see them at MusicFest.
Kenny Saunders & Friends represent everything the “Great Northwest” is all about. This great gathering of Boise-based musicians blends acoustic Americana and western folk with a flair for fun performances. You may have seen this crew in previous appearances with local favorites, like Muzzie Braun and Johnny Shoes, but you don’t want to miss them on the Outdoor Stage.
Round 2 of the MusicFest will take place all day on July 2, 2016. The second day of the event will also be held at the Mountain Village Resort’s Outdoor Concert Venue with gates set to open at 11:00am.
We are honored to host Suzy Bogguss all the way from Nashville for MusicFest Round 2. This amazing woman has won a Grammy Award and performed at the White House and Capitol, as well as on shows like Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, and many more. Her incredible lyrics and vocals skillfully weave into classic country sounds for a musical experience you won’t soon forget. There’s no doubt that you’ll want to catch every minute of this epic performance.
Carrie Rodriguez is another Austin, Texas native that’s familiar to the Sawtooths. Not only has she made a great name for herself throughout the country music world, but her extraordinarily memorable performances have delighted guests at Redfish Lake on two previous occasions. If you haven’t experienced her magical fiddling skills and beautiful vocals, we highly recommend snagging a seat for the show. You won’t regret it.
Jeanne Jolly has shared the gift of her extraordinary voice on stages like Carnegie Hall, New York and Monterey Jazz, California. This North Carolina native combines a respect for her country, folk, and soulful musical roots with a love of earthy musical sounds and an innate sense for intimate lyrical poetry to create a transformative and emotional musical experience you’ll truly feel.
Bri Bagwell is a great independent country artist with roots in Austin, Texas and a home in Nashville, Tennessee. Never failing to draw attention with her incredible voice, this fun-loving performer has gained great traction in the country music scene despite her lack of management and big label support. She lets her catchy lyrics and heartfelt singing speak volumes for her and she’s been adding fans all along the way.
Eilen Jewell is a Boise native who started her musical career by “busking” as a street performer in Santa Fe., where she attended college. After years of travelling, honing her performance skills, and sharing her musical talents in bigger cities, like Los Angeles and Boston, she returned to Boise in 2015. We’re very excited to welcome her to Stanley for a great performance against the scenic Sawtooths.
Another San Antonio musical artist, Kimberly Dunn has been sharing her spunky personality and spectacular performances with crowds throughout the American West since winning a talent competition at Texas A&M. Her singer-songwriter title is supported perfectly by her phenomenal vocal ability and fun stage personality, and we can’t wait to welcome her to Stanley.
The Sweet Lillies embody the sounds of “jam-grass,” merging their melodic Americana sound with a soulful bluegrass style into a unique musical brand. This outstanding group of Colorado musicians continues to build a wider audience throughout the West with their creative and fun performance style that encourages the crowd to get up and dance along, so be sure to wear your smile and a comfy set of dancing shoes.
